As believers, we are called to live by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). But what does it mean to live by the faith of the Son of God? In Galatians 2:20, the Apostle Paul writes, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Living by the faith of the Son of God means that we trust in His finished work on the cross. It means that we rely on His strength, His wisdom, and His provision, rather than our own. It means that we surrender our lives to Him, and allow Him to live through us.
In Hebrews 11:6, we read, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Living by the faith of the Son of God means that we please God, and that we receive His rewards.
So how can we live by the faith of the Son of God? Here are a few practical steps:
- Spend time in the Word of God, meditating on His promises and His faithfulness.
- Pray and ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you and guide you.
- Surrender your life to God, and ask Him to live through you.
- Trust in God's sovereignty and provision, even when you don't understand what's happening.
As we live by the faith of the Son of God, we can experience the power of the Holy Spirit, the joy of the Lord, and the peace that passes all understanding. May we be encouraged to trust in God's faithfulness, and to live by the faith of the Son of God.
